United Kingdom 2016 (Winter)
The kids choice for Christmas this year was the UK - and a great choice it was. We were joined by Robyn's folks (Ron and Laurelle) which made this festive season even more special. Five days in London saw us visit the major landmarks - London Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral, Greenwich Royal observatory, Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Blackfriars Bridge, Victoria & Albert Museum, Oxford and Regent St Xmas lights, Trafalgar Square, etc. Also, had a magic dinner and catch-up with our Abu Dhabi comrades - the Chipchase's.

We then drove to glorious Cornwall via Stonehenge. Cornwall has a beauty that is different to the rest of England - its interior is stonewalled and green, while it's coast is rugged and harsh. There are hundreds of quaint fishing villages, some of which haven't change much since fat Henry sat on the throne.

We then spent 7 fantastic days in the Cotswolds, traveling there via Bath. We've wanted to visit the Cotswolds for many years, and it did not disappoint. We had a great farmstay overlooking the Frome Valley down towards Chalford village. Day trips kept us busy visiting the distinctive yellow stoned villages in this Area of Natural Beauty (ANOB). We also had a great day, with perfect weather, when we visited Mount Snowdon in Wales.
